Mr. Bell had a badly tangled and frayed garage door lift cable. He needed a cable replaced.
Lift cables are heavy-duty steel cords, and they can be difficult for amateurs to work with. We unhooked the cable spool free so that we could work out enough of the knot to remove the cable, and then did the same with its twin. We cleaned and oiled the garage door’s spools and couplings before reattaching them and installing the replacement cables.
